When Date Meets Zip

A rare occurrence will happen in Palisade on August 15, 2026. The date will mark a moment in time that occurs only once every 100 years. On August 15 this year, the date will exactly match Palisade’s zipcode, 81526. Called “Perfect Matches” by the United States Postal Service, the occasion provides another reason to celebrate Palisade this August. 

Even better? The date falls perfectly during Palisade Peach Days, with the Peach Days Parade falling on August 15. The following weekend, August 21-22, will continue the celebration with the Palisade Peach Festival. 

Celebrating Date Meets Zip, this year’s Peach Days Parade is centered on the theme “What does 81526 mean to you.” The parade starts at 9 a.m. in Downtown Palisade!  From our local farmers to our art scene to a walk downtown, there’s so much about Palisade to celebrate and love. 

Looking for more ways to celebrate? Kick off the morning of August 15 with the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast at Veterans’ Memorial Park, followed by the Just Peachy 5k and 10k events at 8:45 a.m. starting at Veterans’ Memorial Park.  

To commemorate the day, Date Meets Zip postcards and stickers will also be available for those who love 81526.
